Bio
Mark Cocheo is a New York City–based guitarist known for his versatility, deep feel, and musical intuition. A seasoned performer, he has worked extensively on Broadway, live stages, and television, bringing a refined sense of groove and style to every setting.
His Broadway and Off-Broadway credits include MJ, Back to the Future, Tina, Little Shop of Horrors, Almost Famous, Hell’s Kitchen, Bat Out of Hell, Gettin’ The Band Back Together, Saturday Church and more.
Over the course of his career, Mark has performed with a wide range of artists, including Kristin Chenoweth, Melissa Etheridge, Gloria Gaynor, James Burton, James Moody, Bucky Pizzarelli, George Garzone, Wayne Newton, Tony Orlando, Larry Gatlin, Charlie Daniels, B. J. Thomas, Darryl Worley, Collin Raye, and Mark Farner, as well as groups such as The Dan Band, The Brighton Beat, The Mark Zaleski Band, and The Omar Thomas Large Ensemble.
Equally comfortable in jazz, R&B, funk, and contemporary pop, Mark’s playing is rooted in time, touch, and storytelling. He is passionate about the subtle elements that make music feel alive—pocket, phrasing, and connection.
Mark holds music degrees from New York University and New England Conservatory. He has also studied with Wayne Krantz, Ben Monder, Jerry Bergonzi, and Bob Moses, and has served on the faculty of New York University, Five Towns College, National Guitar Workshop, and LaGuardia Community College.
When he’s not performing, Mark is a dedicated student of music and life, constantly refining his craft while raising his two daughters with his wife, Tara.
